We love Julia Donaldson’s stories in nursery, Superworm is a favourite and always a great way to incorporate all areas of learning and development. We shared the story recently and decided to plant some beans after discussing where worms live and how they help the soil to feed plant’s. We are excited to take care of our beans and watch them grow.
Superworm is super long, Superworm is super strong……
Incorporating mathematics and fine motor development, the children made their our own Superworms by threading. Demonstrating growing concentration and co-ordination skills. We then explored mathematical concepts and measuring by using cubes to make different length Superworm’s.
