I would like to warmly welcome you to Townley House Independent Nursery. Townley House first opened in 2000, built around a simple belief, that childcare should feel like an extension of home. After spending over 40 years working within childcare, including owning a large nursery, I realised something important when I was expecting my own children: I couldn’t find a small nursery that truly felt right for my family. So I decided to create one.
Townley House was founded on the vision of providing a small, nurturing, home-from-home environment where children are known as individuals, families feel supported, and a genuine love of childcare sits at the heart of everything we do. Today, I am proud to run the nursery alongside my son, continuing as a family-run setting. The same values and ethos that Townley House was built upon remain at the centre of everything we do, ensuring that every child and family receives the same care, warmth, and attention that inspired the nursery from the very beginning.
Rather than simply telling you what makes Townley House special, we invite you to come and experience it for yourself. Arrange a visit below and meet our dedicated practitioners — the people who make our nursery such an inspiring place for children to grow.

Both my son and daughter have been a part of this wonderful establishment for the past few years, and I couldn’t be happier with our decision. The staff work diligently, always prioritising the children in everything they do. The progress they’ve made, both academically and socially, is evident, and my children have thoroughly enjoyed it.
As a family, we have a great appreciation for the nursery, and our daughter truly enjoys attending. The staff are fantastic and incredibly accommodating. Since she started at this nursery over two years ago, our little girl has learned and grown so much.
From our very first visit, we experienced a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel comfortable leaving our child in their care. The support my daughter has received during her time at the nursery has been invaluable, and the staff’s exceptional efforts are clearly reflected in her progress.
We are truly impressed by the professionalism and commitment to providing the best start for our children, particularly in how they handle our child’s allergies and focus on speech and language development. We wouldn’t consider any other setting for them.
We’d love to show you around. Get in touch to arrange a viewing.
