Demonstrating lots of skills they have developed at our Graduation party. Road safety, turn taking, manners, making independent choices and showing kindness.

We had a fantastic time sharing fun at Wacky Warehouse and enjoyed a special lunch treat. We all made sure to add a health side option to our lunch orders.

Followed by some yummy homemade cakes back at nursery kindly gifted by one of our grandparents.

We followed children’s interest in vehicles and celebrated the British Grand Prix with our very own Townley Grand Prix. The children learned colours while making their own racing cars. We had Ferrari’s, Audi’s and lots of great language skills developing.

Preschool worked on patterns when making checkered flags, displaying fantastic concentration skills.

What a wonderful way to explore different occupations and ways of life.

Using children’s interest, current affairs and celebrations supports wider learning in a fun, engaging and active way.

]]> Out And About https://townleyhouse.co.uk/out-and-about/ Fri, 12 Jun 2026 10:26:57 +0000 https://townleyhouse.co.uk/?p=18501 We are luck to have so much to explore in our local community, local shops, dentist, post office, trains and a variety of fantastic parks and green spaces.

Teaching children skills such as road safety, kindness in the community, developing physical skills and resilience by exploring play equipment on the parks.

Supporting children’s emotional regulation and mental health by accessing large green spaces to run and explore with their friends is a vital part of our busy week in nursery. Developing good habits and promoting physical activities at an early age to support health and wellbeing.

We shared the story recently and decided to plant some beans after discussing where worms live and how they help the soil to feed plant’s. We are excited to take care of our beans and watch them grow.

Superworm is super long, Superworm is super strong……

Incorporating mathematics and fine motor development, the children made their our own Superworms by threading. Demonstrating growing concentration and co-ordination skills. We then explored mathematical concepts and measuring by using cubes to make different length Superworm’s.

The children had a fantastic time and were so well behaved. They enjoyed  a tub of ice cream during the interval and even enjoyed the coach journey. We are very proud of all our nursery children!
